How do I crop an image on a Mac?
Open this page in Safari or Chrome, add the image and drag the box. Preview works too: Tools, then Crop, or Command K.
Cut a picture down to the part that matters: drag the box, pick a ratio or exact pixels, or crop it into a circle.
or drop images here
The box shows exactly what you keep, with its width and height in pixels, and every image gets its own box.
Free for any number of photos, with no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you crop.
Crop an image online in three steps.
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP photo on the box, or choose one or more from your device. Each opens with a crop box.
Move the box and pull its corners, or pick a ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9. The darker part is what gets cut off.
Press Crop, then Download. One photo saves as a single file; several arrive together in one ZIP with their names.
Round profile pictures, team pages, avatars for WhatsApp, Discord or Slack and stickers all start as a square photo with the corners cut away. Choose Circle under Shape, drag the round frame over the face and press Crop.
The circle is saved as a PNG with see-through corners, so it sits cleanly on any background color. WebP keeps them see-through too; JPG cannot, so the corners turn white instead.
A circle is always as wide as it is tall. Pick a size such as 400 × 400 pixels if a site asks for one, or keep the photo's own pixels for the sharpest result.
Cutting off edges never blurs the part you keep, but saving a JPG again does: most croppers decode the photo and compress it a second time. Here a JPG is cropped losslessly by default, copying the original's compressed blocks as they are.
JPG stores pictures in squares of 8 or 16 pixels, so with Lossless JPG on, the box's top and left edges step along that grid. The kept pixels are then bit for bit the ones the camera saved, and the date, camera and color profile stay too.
A circle, a new size or another format means drawing new pixels. Those are saved at JPG quality 92, or as lossless PNG, and the crop box itself never stretches or blurs a single pixel.
One click locks the box to 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 or 9:16, turned on its side or set to your own.
Type the box's left and top edge, width and height in pixels, and it moves there while you watch.
Set an output size such as 1080 × 1080 and the crop box takes that shape, then is scaled to fit it.
Add many photos at once. Each keeps its own box, or copy one crop to all; all download as one ZIP.
Crop PNG and WebP images with their see-through parts kept, or save any crop as JPG, PNG or WebP.
Pick Instagram post, portrait or story under Size: the box locks to 1:1, 4:5 or 9:16, 1080 wide.
Every crop is made inside this browser tab, on your own device.
The cropping runs in a background thread of this page. Your pictures are never sent to a server.
Nothing is saved anywhere. The images and their crops stay in this tab until you close or reload it.
No sign-up, no email and no watermark. There is nothing that could link a cropped photo back to you.
Open this page in Safari or Chrome, add the image and drag the box. Preview works too: Tools, then Crop, or Command K.
Photos has Edit, then Crop. For exact pixels, a circle or a batch, open this page in Safari and pick photos from your library.
The Photos app crops with Edit image. For a set ratio, pixel size or circle, add the picture here in Edge or Chrome instead.
Choose Circle under Shape, drag the round frame where you want it and press Crop. You get a PNG with see-through corners.
Add the screenshot, keep Free as the ratio and drag each edge to the part you need. PNG screenshots stay sharp PNGs.
Add them all, set the ratio once and adjust each box, or press Use this crop for all. Download saves every crop in one ZIP.
Choose Custom size under Size and type the width and height, such as 600 × 400. The box takes that shape and is scaled to it.
Yes. A PNG or WebP keeps its see-through parts when you crop it. Only saving as JPG fills them with white, as JPG has none.
